Lotte

We wanted to adopt a stray dog from Greece for many years, after visiting Porto Heli and seeing the plight of the many strays in the Peloponnese. After donating to several animal refuges, I searched Instagram to find Swiss charities that support dog refuges in Greece and that is how I found Stray Paws Swiss. One day, I saw a post of a lovely little Teckel mix called Lotte and I asked if we could adopt her. Stray Paws took care of everything and my husband only had to travel to Athens airport to pick her up. All the importation paperwork was taken care of and Lotte had been microchipped, vaccinated and checked out by a vet. She came home quite timid, but very quickly took to our Viszla, Schoggi, and followed him around everywhere. It has taken a little while for Lotte to grow in confidence but having another dog to play with and cuddle up to helped. She loves playing and enjoys her morning walks. In the evenings, she is very affectionate and cuddles with the family. She still has to sleep near us or she gets very anxious. And she doesn’t like to be left alone, but thankfully she always has Schoggi. After only two months, the whole family adores her and she gives us so much love and joy. Adopting Lotte has given us all so much happiness and we can’t imagine life without her. We are eternally grateful to Stray Paws for rescuing her and taking such loving care of her until she could come home to us.
